Senate passes bill prohibiting governments from teaching critical race theory to employees

(Phoenix, State Capitol) --- The Arizona State Senate today passed SB 1074, a bill sponsored by Senator David Livingston that prevents government from requiring employees to undergo training that presents blame or judgment on the basis of race, ethnicity or sex. Agencies across the country have been promoting the use of critical race theory (CRT), which under the guise of racial sensitivity training judges people by their race.

"We've heard quite a bit about CRT in our schools, but it's happening at government agencies as well," said Senator Livingston. "SB 1074 will stop these 'training sessions' in Arizona and send a message to the country that the dangerous CRT will not be tolerated in our state."

The bill banning CRT now goes to the Governor for his signature.
