Statement from Senator Shope on
Coolidge gas line explosion
"Coolidge is grieving this morning, after two members of a family were killed and another seriously injured after an explosion on the El Paso Natural Gas Pipeline. The explosion happened early Sunday morning near SR 87 and E. Randolph Road. A rural farmhouse caught fire, and when fire officials arrived, they found the bodies of a man and his 14-year-old daughter, along with a woman suffering severe burns.
This morning I join the people of LD 8 in praying for the victims of this tragedy. I have many questions about how something like this can happen, and I trust a thorough investigation is underway by state and federal agencies, along with the operator of the pipeline, Kinder Morgan."
