Senate President-Elect Warren Petersen Announces

Chief of Staff to Serve Majority Caucus

PHOENIX, ARIZONA— Senate President-Elect Warren Petersen (R-14) is excited to announce Joshua Kredit will serve as the new Chief of Staff for the Senate Majority Caucus.

Since 2019, Kredit has served under Mark Brnovich at the Arizona Attorney General's Office, most recently as the Assistant Chief Deputy. Prior to that, he worked for the Speaker of the House in the Arizona House of Representatives from 2016 to 2019, first as Senior Policy Advisor & General Counsel, then as the Director of Policy & General Counsel. Before his time at the House, Kredit worked at the Center for Arizona Policy in various roles and ultimately as the General Counsel & Vice President of Policy. He received his undergraduate and law degrees from Arizona State University. Kredit is a third generation Arizonan. He and his wife Katie are raising their five children in Goodyear, Arizona.

"Josh is no stranger to the Legislature and has extensive experience in working with slim margins between Republican and Democrat members in the House. I am confident he will be the unifying voice needed to advance the initiatives important to our Caucus," said President-Elect Petersen. "His experience with public policy and his legal background make him an integral resource for our team and for the great state of Arizona."

As Chief of Staff, Kredit's duties will include working with Majority Caucus members to formulate policy positions, acting as the chief policy advisor to members, leading legislative strategies, collaborating with Majority Caucus staff on important outreach and communications, acting as a liaison between Majority and Minority Caucus staff, providing leadership and guidance to structure the Majority Caucus with responsive constituent relations, managing recruiting and hiring efforts, as well as serving as the direct supervisor over the Deputy Chief of Staff, General Counsel, Communications Director and Executive Assistant of the Majority Caucus.
