Senate Republicans Pass Legislation to Fight Border-Related Crimes
and Support Texas' Efforts to Protect Their Citizens From Biden's Border Invasion
PHOENIX, ARIZONA— Arizona Senate Republicans passed measures to fight against the invasion our nation is enduring at the hands of the Biden Administration due to its refusal to enforce federal law and secure the southern border.
With today's passage of SCR 1042, Senate Republicans are expressing support for Texas Governor Greg Abbott's efforts to fight this crisis. Currently, 25 of America's governors stand in solidarity with the state's right to defend itself. Senate Republicans are calling on Governor Hobbs to become the 26th .
"If the Biden Administration didn't abandon its constitutional duty to protect Americans by refusing to secure our southern border, there wouldn't be a need for SCR1042," said bill sponsor Senator Bolick. "Since the federal government has abandoned its duty within Article 4, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution, it has given the states the constitutional right to defend themselves against this invasion." (See Article 1, Section 10, Clause 3).
"Over 165 different nations are represented by illegals crossing our border. This is a serious threat to our national security. Most of these individuals have not been vetted, and as a result, we're experiencing an unprecedented rise in horrific border-related crimes. Not to mention, taxpayers are on the hook for this illegal immigration. The official open data source of federal spending information (USASpending.gov) illustrates how the Biden Administration is bankrolling its own invasion by funding the United Nations and its partners dolling out hundreds of millions of dollars in cash and aid to migrants who eventually cross the U.S. southern border illegally," said Bolick.
Senate Republicans also passed SB 1608 today, sponsored by Senator Justine Wadsack, which establishes the use of an electronic device to aid in human smuggling as a class 2 felony.
"Human smuggling is at an all-time high," said Senator Wadsack. "Cartels are recruiting people, often our children, to participate in smuggling operations using various apps such as Snapchat and WhatsApp. The use of social media platforms to carry out these crimes has grown exponentially and contributes to the humanitarian crisis caused by Biden's open border policies. Our children, our law enforcement, and our communities are being targeted, and it won't be tolerated."
All Senate Democrats voted against these bills.
