Senator Nancy Barto shows her unwavering support to

empowering women and promoting life

(Phoenix, State Capitol) --- Senator Nancy Barto attended the pro-life rally in Washington D.C. yesterday during the oral arguments of the United States Supreme Court case, known as Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which involves a 2018 Mississippi law restricting most abortions after 15 weeks. Senator Barto showed support for the Mississippi Attorney General Lynne Fitch' defense of their law in hopes of overturning Roe v. Wade.

"Roe v. Wave decision was brought in 1973, and after almost 50 years of this shameful decision that legalized abortion nationwide, it is time to modernize our statutes and send abortion policy back to the states where it should have been from the start. I am grateful to have witnessed generations of pro-life Americans from all walks of life gathered peacefully yesterday to pray for the Supreme Court to rule favorably to end Roe v. Wade. States like Arizona have worked to defend life at all stages for many years, passing laws that protect and inform women about abortion and working tirelessly to end the pain and tragedy of abortion – making Arizona one of the most pro-life states in the country. Nevertheless, the constraints of Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey stand in the way of truly protecting life. With the development of Science and technology - ultrasound and medical advancements demand modernizing our abortion laws. With more information about abortion, Americans have become more pro-life over time and a majority support more restrictions. We must recognize human life at every stage of development and protect it. I hope for the overturn of Roe v. Wade, and more pro-life legislation during this upcoming session. America is ripe for modernizing our abortion laws," said Senator Barto.

Senator Barto is a strong pro-life advocate and continuously shows her unwavering support to protect the lives of the most vulnerable. During this past session, she sponsored SB 1457 which ended discrimination abortions based on genetic abnormalities such as Down Syndrome.
